I was never a fan of hers, so I'm glad her fame didn't last long. But why did this happen considering she was so huge at the time? I've never seen a celebrity get so famous and the fall off so quickly.

She didn’t really? A Star Is Born was a big hit when it came out, and the song Shallow became her biggest hit in years.

I've never seen a celebrity get so famous and the fall off so quickly. People were exhausted with her antics, also Electropop fatigue set in with every damn tv show theme song like Shake it up having electropop elements. Not to mention every artist either using RedOne or Dr Luke for their production. Enough was enough at the time.

She was the most famous person on planet earth from 2009 to 2011 (yes, even more famous than Obama) And the suddenly she completely fell off the map in 2012-2013 She definitely fell off, and isn't nearly as popular as she used to be

I've never seen a celebrity get so famous and the fall off so quickly. Long text incoming Reason number 1: Artpop (her first flop album) was just too weird and over-the-top. To make matters worse, it came out in 2013!!! The year when "Royals" went big and Chainsmokers-style mid 10s EDM started to replace gaga-style late 00s electropop as the de facto face of popular eletronic music. Artpop was an overexagerated and louder version of Gaga, back when people were getting tired of overexagerated and loud music. Reason number 2: she failed to adapt with the changing trends. Reason number 3: people wanted to see her fall. She was just so overexposed back in 2008-2011, being the most famous person earth, she was inescapable!. However, this is more of contributing factor. Reason numer 4: competition from Miley Cyrus in 2013 Reason number 5: "Born This Way" (both the album and single) turned off a lot of casual listeners. She went super weird around that era, it's when she really became a joke in the eye of the casual listeners (she had been a joke in the eyes of the critics since her debut though). She also made a pro-LGBT song that pissed off a lot of her heterosexual casual listeners, got weird face/shoulder implants, pissed off Catholics and christians in general with her "Judas" music video, made weird music videos for Born this way and Alejandro. It was clear that she was on a downward trajectory when the last singles from Born this Way started flopping. It just took until 2013 for it to become apparent to everyone that she wasn't the most famous popstar in the world anymore

Her album "Artpop" (also commonly nicknamed "ArtFlop") came around an awful time. The pop charts were really over electropop and dubstep at that point, yet she released possibly her most club-oriented album. And it didn't help either that she received competition around that time from both Katy Perry and newer artists like Lorde that seemed more refreshing than her tired wacky antics. I think that flop really tainted her image and cemented her as a passé figure from a now bygone era. Even changing sound in her follow up album didn't really help, although "Million Reasons" did okay in the charts. It wasn't until staring in a big budget movie that her career went a slight uphill.

She should've changed her sound earlier Artpop should've been a piano/acoustic album
