I'll go with Instagram, because Facebook was already irrelevant among the youth by 2014. And Instagram was like, THE social media platform between roughly 2013 to 2019 (before the TikTok takeover).

I myself think instagram is. Not only is the actual reign of it longer in the 2010s but also the way in which it is used(used more for selfie posting since it's photo/video only) and the aesthetic looks a lot more 10sish.

tiktok is much bigger than vine They're both shorts video platforms. 1. TikTok is much bigger than vine 2. It actually has had a huge impact on pop music and fashion, unlike Vine

Point is they're both the two most popular video shorts platforms. Doesn't matter which one is more popular. Facebook is often compared to MySpace and facebook is lightyears more popular than myspace.

Oh quit being so disingenuous MySpace and Facebook occupied the same role during their peaks: Cultural centers of fashion, music and socialization Vine and TikTok definitely do not occupt the same role, regardless of them being short video platforms. Vine was NEVER a center of culture like TikTok is right now, not even during Vine's peak.

That was what my point was. What other mainstream platform is shorts based? Snapchat doesn't count since its mainly friends based and snaps disappear later on. Youtube shorts doesn't count either since it is an extension of youtube which is a regular video sharing platform.

The problem is that you're talking about the format (less interesting) and I'm talking about the role (more interesting)
