I love the 90s for the most part but some of the technology really does need to be left in the past. For example, those shitty early passive matrix LCDs found in old laptops from the early-mid 90s. Those things had terrible contrast and motion blur, and it made playing games on a laptop unbearable, hence why you didn’t really see it become common until the late 90s, when active-matrix displays became popular. It’s something not even the most nostalgic of 90s kids miss. The early 90s had a lot of cringe: Vanilla Ice, Warrant, anti-drug and environmentalist PSAs, Captain Planet, LJN games, etc. It is my least favorite part of the 90s, I like the mid-late 90s better.

The 90s were pretty good but as someone who lived it as a kid it had many boring periods sandwiched in between.

-Parents screaming at you to stop using internet so they can make phone calls -Preppy bowl cuts -Tucked in jeans -Floppy and Zip disks that stop working last minute when you need to print out a final paper at kinkos -Cassettes that are almost the same cost as Cds -Soft pop/rock hits overplayed on the radio -High video store late rental fees
More unique to the Y2K portion:
-Badly applied hair gel -Mp3 players that barely hold any music -Jock/prep hip hop style crossover -Nintendo brand loyalty wasn't that rewarding -Techno being overplayed everywhere all the time -Super conformist mindset

I hated when things were sold out during christmas time and birthday and you never got presents you wanted, 90s fads always contributed to things selling out fast Watching too many reruns could def make you super tired of the show that's one downside Also long or bigger t-shirts being a thing was kinda annoying and sometimes funny in retrospect.

I remember I had fake ninja turtles water squirters and bart simpson doll I got from those kinds of stores, they had so many knockoffs I think there is even a collectables market for knockoffs.

First things to comes to mind What was great about 90s toys in general was the price, at least for the most part and not including playsets or jumbo stuff. I remember new figures were fairly affordable or cheap outside of playsets. I was just gift shopping for some relatives and the prices on simple figures were pretty ridiculous for standard figures.
