Though as a company as a whole, I think the 90s was Sony's best decade. I actually think the early 00s was the absolute peak of the company, but the mid-late 00s were far less kind. I read on Wikipedia that they were having struggles during that period. As for Microsoft, I'm not sure whether the 90s or 00s were better. I think their peak came between the release of Windows 95 in 1995, and the Zune in 2006. After the Zune was released, Microsoft began a string of failures, one which IMO they never really recovered from. I think the absolute peak of Microsoft was 2003-2005, due to both Windows XP (their most beloved operating system) and the Xbox being very popular in those years. PDAs with Windows Mobile were popular (a far more successful attempt at mobile computing compared to their 2010s Windows Phone blunders).

PS2 is the best selling console of all time. Even in the late 00s the PS3 struggled at first but the PSP sold like htocakes at the same time

If we’re talking gaming, then I agree, the 2000s was the best, but their tech division was struggling, especially with the decline of CDs, something which Sony profited heavily off of.
