The originals don't age well, the prequels were mediocre-to-awful, and the sequels are just mediocre.
This could probably be because I'm not a fan of the sci-fi genre, but I am also tired of hearing about Star Wars everywhere I go.
Anyone else think the series is overrated?

I agree with you. I've never actually watched a Star Wars movie in full though, so it's hard for me to judge whether the hype surrounding the series is warranted or not. Although, I do agree that people tend to over-exaggerate how good the movies are. Stars Wars doesn't exactly appeal to me either, namely because I find it too fictitious (I realise it is a sci-fi series, but anyway).

I'm not interested, in fact it's very annoying. The other day I wanted to go and watch a movie with my friends but we couldn't because at my nearest Cinema, Star Wars had 34 session on that day alone!

Never watched them yet. I went to the cinema when the first one came out (I was 10ish) so can't remember it. I have them all on my DVD recorder Hard Drive, just to find the urge of one day watching them. One day....

If you did decide to watch them in the future, you would have to dedicate a lot of hours just to get through them.

Yes. Have never even seen any Star Wars film and have no desire to. It's 'not my scene, man'.

Well, when something is hyped to that level, it tends to be overrated. Personally I just never got into them, it's not my type of sci fi fandom.
