I think Q2 2021 and Q4 2021 were calmer than Q3 2021. Not much happened, and Q4 2021 in particular felt like the world was finally returning to normal (especially with movies like No Way Home releasing in theaters). I might rank Q4 2021 at the bottom actually, since it was the only quarter of the 2020s that actually had a positive vibe to it.

Q2 2022 isn't over yet so that's why I didn't rank it at all. It depends on how the rest of this month and June turns out to be. Q1 2020 was really crazy: Iran, Kobe's death, Australian wildfires, and the start of COVID Q2 2021 and Q4 2021 are definitely the calmest and happiest quarters of the 2020s. Q2 2021 people were getting vaccinated, and Q4 2021 had movies returning to theaters and the seeming return to normal life. I think Q4 2021 was a bit calmer though simply because less people were dying from COVID then.

I might rank Q4 2021 at the bottom actually, since it was the only quarter of the 2020s that actually had a positive vibe to it. Omicron variant(which means mask mandates) happened in Q4 2021. It's debateable whether Q3 or Q4 was crazier though. Q2 2021 was still mostly in lockdown.

WW3 fears at the very start, australian wildfires and also COVID was slowly building up to the "2 weeks to flatten the curve" boiling point it reached in late march. I remember people were scared of COVID at the time, it just hadn't been officially declared a global pandemic yet. It's just the rest of 2020(minus Q3) was so completely batshit insane that it made Q1 look tame in comparison.
