Edit: Read the post before commenting. Hear me out at least.
It was a shift year but not as big as everyone makes it out to be. The events that happened were extremely transitional if we are talking about solely how changeful it felt within the actual year and how it affected the next year(2021) but 2 years later and COVID is already basically dead and life is mostly back to normal. There is still some residue from it but in 3 years time it will be completely irrelevant.
To put things more simply, it didn't bring any LONG-LASTING or PERMANENT change like other "big" shifts do. 9/11 is considered another big shift. The long lasting effects are the Iraq War, fear of terrorism, CCTV surveillance, tighter security(especially on airports) and the masses realizing that we are far from world peace whereas before people were optimistic towards the future and some people even though there would never be another war. The 2008 recession is also considered another big shift. The after effects being the economy completely going to shit and not recovering until the late 10s. There's also the first black president which is an event that completely changed the world permanently. COVID on the other hand is a short term thing that is pretty much dead now only 2 years removed from 2020 with no long lasting after effects.
COVID is a bubble shift. Right now, it seems like such a big shift since it is recent and many people feel that the COVID era is still ongoing or only just finished. But come 10 years time and people will realize in hindsight how in the grand scheme of things it changed very little and a later shift will probably overshadow it and be considered the true start of the decade.

You've had some bad takes in the past, but this is easily the worst one.

Complete nonsense. 2020 is the biggest shift the world has seen since the 1960s.
