The Y2K era is said to have begun in 1997 by many, but the roots can be traced to 1995-1996. What are some things that occurred in these two years that helped push us into the Y2K era? Here are some things I can think of. -Release of the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 -Shift towards 3D gaming -Super Mario 64 -Tomb Raider -Resident Evil -Quake -Death of Eazy-E and 2pac in 1995 and 1996 respectively -Windows 95 -Clippy is introduced into Microsoft Office -Bjork’s Post -Wipeout and Wipeout 2097 -Marilyn Manson blows up in late 1996 -Hackers -Toy Story -Warner Bros Animation starts making movies -Independence Day -Yahoo, GeoCities, and Angelfire all launch (marking the start of the dot-com bubble) -Internet Explorer

When 2Pac and Biggie died it just added up more space for Y2k to take over. ( even tho Biggies final Music video had Y2k elements in it) he was moving towards that direction
