Now that the decade has been over for a while has anyone noticed that a lot of things that were expensive in the decade or long awaited are not just more easily accessible like movies and tv shows. It’s like now it’s just a count down for how many things from the 2010s are ending like the Ellen show that now in a couple of years it will be like a time capsule

As far as technology and video games are concerned, we are currently in the phase right now where it is merely old, not retro. The 2000s used to be in that same category not that long ago, but now, 2000s tech products are becoming increasingly more expensive and collectible. The first iPhone is a PRIME example of this.

That’s true, but what I meant was more like we can look back at the decade more with more different lens as opposed to when we were living it. A lot of people in this fourm were kids and teens during the decade and our perspective will keep changing as we get older on it. But yeah the media from the decade is now consumable now that it’s over.

The first iphone is nowhere near close to retro. The closes thing to a retro phone from the 2000s is the Most Razr flip phone.

The first iPhone is pretty dated though, it’s noticeably different from todays iPhones despite still being iPhones also the IOS from the Late 2000s used at the time is pretty dated.

"Dated" is VERY different from "retro". Perhaps, I guess it depends on the context. I feel as though retro means something completely different from what we have today, whereas dated means it’s similar but still older feeling in certain respects. I think the first iPhone is dated, whereas the Nokia N73, which came out the same year, is actually retro.

Retro things are usually around 20 years ago, give or take a year or two.

There will be adults who’ve never used an IPhone 1 or remember the release
