Early 2000s: Dreamy Mid 2000s: Edgy Late 2000s: Dunno(this era didn't have that clear of an identity) Early 2010s: Corny Mid 2010s: Hollow Late 2010s: Crazy Early 2020s: Surreal Y2K era I would say was dreamy. I mean, FFS there was literally a console called the DREAMCAST during that time. Both the early and mid 2000s were edgy, but I think the early 2000s was defined more by being edgy. Mid 2000s was more multifaceted, but I’d say bling was the most defining thing. I went with viral for the late 2000s, since that era was heavily defined by the rise of YouTube and early memes. iCarly came out because of that. Rap songs during this time also had a “viral” vibe, often being made for ringtones or dance crazes. Think Shoulder Lean, Chicken Noodle Soup, and most infamously, Crank That.

Toxic would be another good word to describe the late 2010s. Yeah our current era the early 2020s is pretty toxic too, but NOTHING compared to the late 2010s, which was heavily defined by the alt-right, Donald Trump, and the Paul brothers.
