Many people have been deprived of social interaction, and without social media to at least let people interact with others on the internet, it would be twice as bad because you wouldn't be able to even interact with people virtually. Not to mention school would be completely shutdown without a virtual compromise. Can't order things off Amazon, Etc.
This begs the question, would the masses allow lockdowns to happen before the internet era where we can communicate online? Or would there be protests, riots and people refusing to obey the government whims.

No no, I mean if we wouldn't have ever even entered lockdown because people wouldn't put up with it in a pre internet world. And if we did, would we tolerate it longer than the initial "2 weeks to stop the spread" period?

People would more tolerant of the lockdown, there would be less antivaxers too
A lot of fear and misinformation was spread in the internet. It's kind of like how the internet is the #1 contributor to the rise of depression/suicide in the last 20 years
