It seems today that a lot of celebrities from the mid-late 2000s are still somewhat relevant in the public eye. Was it like this in the 2000s with some celebrities from the 1980s ?

Not really. Donald Trump was popular due to The Apprentice, and Arnold Schwarzenegger was popular due to his role as California governor, but for the most part, most 80s celebrities were irrelevant in the 2000s.

Yes they were, when the 80s came back full force as a nostalgia act
Vh1 rebranded their whole network to feature people like Flavor Flav, Hulk Hogan, Vanilla Ice etc and etc
it was there 80s reality show block
Note: these 80s stars were not on the level of 50 cent of that era or anything

Considering there’s some people who only know Flava flav for his reality show as opposed to his music. yeah it was pretty awesome reality tv tbh, everyone watched Flavor of Love, Rock of love at the time and of course Hogan Knows best. As well as Vh1 I love the 80s shows that always played.
