Sony dominated the late 10s as well. The switch was rising in popularity but not reeally popular until like late 2019 at the earliest. This is not true at all. Switch was a hit from day one, and everyone was talking about it. exactly, What alternate dimension is Nightmare in ? LMAO, Switch was popular from the JUMP ! First Late 2001 had to after effects now Switch was unpopular lol

Switch was a hit from day one, and everyone was talking about it. Perhaps everyone talked about it at launch but no one had it because it had just launched. Meanwhile the PS4 was selling like hotcakes as it had already been out for 3 years in 2017. No matter how you slice it, the switch was completely outshadowed by the PS4 during the late 10s. Early 20s though is a different story. It will probably even overtake the PS4. It might very well become the highest selling console in history.

Nintendo issued the Switch's first month's performance in their 2016 fiscal year results (which ended March 31, 2017), reporting that more than 2.74 million units had been sold worldwide, exceeding their target of two million

The Nintendo Switch will always be remembered in the future as a 2010s staple.

The Nintendo Switch will always be remembered in the future as a 2010s staple. It’s a late 2010s/early 2020s thing.

The Nintendo Switch will always be remembered in the future as a 2010s staple. It’s a late 2010s/early 2020s thing. Why does that matter? It came out in the 2010s. Therefore it is a 2010s thing. I don't think it's an early 2020s thing either.

That’s different. I myself never heard of Among Us until Fall 2020, as did most people. It will definitely be associated with the early 2020s. The Switch however was UNDENIABLY popular in the late 2010s, and is in fact one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of that era.

The Switch however was UNDENIABLY popular in the late 2010s, and is in fact one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of that era. The analogy was to prove that when something comes out doesn't automatically make that the era that it belongs in. Now regarding popularity, in the stats I linked it shows how it was much less popular than it is in the early 20s. On top of that the PS4 was completely dominating during that time period. On the other hand now in the current trajectory it is going in it will almost certainly overtake the PS4 and has potential to be the most sold console in existance.
