What years do you think are the last years where each console generation was still somewhat relevant in the mainstream gaming scene?
My list:
4th gen: 1996
5th gen: 2001
6th gen: 2007
7th gen: 2015(arguably 2014)
8th gen(estimate): 2024(arguably 2025)

4th gen must have been very short then since 5th gen consoles started coming out as early as 1994 lol.

It was the peak of the 16-bit era. Ranking each year by how relevant 16-bit consoles were 1. 1994 2. 1993 3. 1995 4. 1992 5. 1991
