Mid 2000s weren't consistent at all. Sure we had the same president throughout, and 50 Cent was popular throughout the era, but we started the era in what was effectively still the early 2000s, with nu metal being popular, CD players being more popular than MP3 players, VHS tapes still sold in stores, MySpace not being popular yet, and YouTube not even existing. By the end of the era, VHS was pretty much gone, Blu-Ray had already come out, MySpace and YouTube were big among the youth, everyone had an iPod, emo and ringtone rap were the biggest trends in music, and the Xbox 360 had come out. I would personally say the early 2010s were the most consistent. It was all dubstep, electropop, and rage comics for a while.

The early 10s went from a pre-smartphone world(as in before they were mainstream) to smartphone domination.
