What’s the predicable time frame for an era to become nostalgic and appreciated. I remember hating 2000s music because it sounded so trashy and forgettable at best but now that’s all I listen to half the times. The decade was so looked down upon in the early 2010s but now it’s being appreciated.

Usually, it's not until the late part of the next decade that a decade's culture becomes appreciated. 2000s nostalgia blew up in the late 2010s, with emo rap taking influence from it, Sirius XM launching 2000s stations, and bands like Linkin Park going from mocked to loved. Likewise, the 90s became very popular in the late 2000s, especially online. And the late 90s is when The Wedding Singer (80s throwback) came out.

Mid-late 00s nostalgia was confined mainly online in gendec areas such as this and a few other places. It was niche but now it's a lot more widespread.

One thing you'll notice is that after a prominent celebrity from an era dies, the era in question becomes more popular. Think Chester Bennington for the early 2000s, or Avicii for the early 2010s.
