80s - Winter 90s - Summer 00s - Autumn 10s - Spring 20s - Autumn I'd switch the 90s and 00s around. 90s was all about browns, tans, and reds. 00s were all about vibrant shades of green, blue, and yellow.

That would give the decade a Winter-y aesthetic. I associate Winter with depressing colors like black, gray, and blue. I personally think the 2000s are split in two in this regard. The early 2000s had a vibrant tropical/surfer-influenced aesthetic, whilst the late 2000s had a very "chilly" technological monochromatic aesthetic with lots of blues.

50s summer 60s spring 70s autumn 80s summer 90s summer 00s winter 10s summer I'd switch the 50s and 60s around. 50s was all about pastel colors and light shades of pink and blue. 60s was all about tropical Hawaii/California aesthetics, surfer culture, and it literally had a music genre called "sunshine pop". There were also popular songs like "Here Comes the Sun" that evoke this vibe. I can definitely see the 80s as summer, given the popularity of tropical palm tree aesthetics during the decade, but I ultimately went with Winter because of the flashy nighttime aesthetics of the decade, and Winter just so happens to have the longest nights of any season. IDK, that's my rationale. The 90s come off as autumnal to me. Much like the 70s, it's all about natural earth tones and various shades of brown and tan. I had to split the 2000s because it's so contrasting between two parts of the decade. The first half has a very tropical/ocean/surfer vibe, with lots of vibrant greens and blues. Just think Windows XP and Super Mario Sunshine. The second half is filled with whites and blues, paired up with imagery of auroras that contributes to a Wintery vibe. Just think Windows Vista. The 2010s is all about pastel colors once again. The default wallpaper of Windows 8 is literally a pair of flowers.

I will say that I agree with nightmarefarm on the 2020s being autumn, at least, so far. This decade has seen the proliferation of the Cottagecore aesthetic, which is all about comforting naturalistic homely vibes. Games like Animal Crossing: New Horizon also exemplify this attitude. I think this decade could very well be the new 70s in that regard, with a very natural “cozy” vibe, to contrast with the hectic nature of the previous decade.

Both the 90s and 00s were pretty dark and edgy as a whole honestly. The 80s and 2010s were much more lively by comparison. That said, I think it can be said the 90s had a more naturalistic and stripped down aesthetic, whilst the 2000s had a more synthetic and monochromatic aesthetic.
