Super Mario World in 1991 (NA release):  Super Mario 64 in 1996 (NA release):  The 90s probably had the last complete technological shift in video gaming, because afterwards, most games came out in 3D and still do to this day with radically enhanced HD graphics.

Home movie tech changed a lot in the 70s...
(at least for people who could afford video equipment. this transition wouldn’t happen until the early to mid 80s for most people)
