Similar to my other recent thread, which school year of the 90s is the purest of the decade, with the least influences from either the 80s or 00s? For my pick, I'm going with 1994-1995. Grunge was still big, the East Coast vs West Coast rap rivalry was going strong, shows like Beavis and Butthead, The Simpsons, and Power Rangers were big. AOL was rising in popularity, and the internet was still a novelty. Multimedia CD-ROM software was very popular. This was the last pre-PlayStation school year, with the Super Nintendo as the most popular console, whilst the Sega Genesis was still getting new games (including Sonic & Knuckles), and the Sega Saturn (an exclusively 90s console) came out.

1995/1996 was in third or second grade at the time, heavy grunge afterglow feeling Fall 95 but 1995 in general felt peak 90s everything.

Either 1994/95 or 1995/96, but moreso 1994/95. I'd say the 90s peaked culturally in 1994 most likely, but 1996 was very epitome 90s as well. 1995 was in the middle of all that. It was peak mid 90s, and had some early 90s influences while ushering in a lot of late 90s influences.

1995-96, because I was a high school graduate in '96, my mom finally left my abusive stepfather, survived a deadly heat wave, and had a ball at the Kiddieland amusement park.
