I'm curious, how many of you who are above 25 noticed a dramatic shift in the year 2006? I definitely noticed it now that I look back.

I'm curious, how many of you who are above 25 noticed a dramatic shift in the year 2006? I definitely noticed it now that I look back. Was in High school then and there 100% was a shift, anyways here are the shifts that occurred in 2006. All in bold. slim95 - Disney channel re brands with High School Musical and Hannah Montana - PlayStation 3 & Nintendo Wii launch - BlackBerry Pearl ( a smartphone) launches and becomes very popular - That 70s show and Malcolm in The Middle air their final episodes ( ending the Silver age of FOX Network) - The WB & UPN both end as a Network - The CW network launches - Youtube blows up during Summer 2006 and makes the cover of TIME magazine in Fall 06 - Scene sub culture emerges during the late Summer of 2006 - Hipster now as a small small 10% presence in society - Apple switches from Power PC to Intel chips - MTV's TRL no longer live during Q4 2006 ( some episodes LIVE but most with "Previously Recorded" graphic - WWE changers their Raw logo and theme song - Facebook opens up during Q4 2006 to anyone with an e-mail email address - Dark & Digital Timbaland productions start to take over the radio - Windows Vista beta rolls out & most stores start having Vista on their machines instead of Windows XP ( Fall 2006) - Sam Goody & Suncost video END their reign as mall stores
* Windows Vista's takeover was very fast, even if the official release did not happen until January stores like Best Buy were already putting Vista on every desktop and laptop in the store as early as October/November 2006.
* Even tho FYE started taking up most Sam Goody spots it was still a major blow to the mall and changed the classic 2000s perception of it.
You could tell the classic 2000s were wrapping up during the end of Summer 2006, however it would take until 2008 and 2009 to finally remove everything.

I do agree that 2006 was quite changeful. But wasn’t that year like, peak emo? All the teens at fucking Hot Topic and Spencer’s were all about My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, and Taking Back Sunday. From a gamer perspective, 2006 was a hugely changeful year tho

From a gamer perspective, 2006 was a hugely changeful year tho A good majority of 2006 felt the same as the classic 2000s until like September/October 2006, you could feel the change like a pin drop. It's hard to describe but there was this feeling of "it's not the same era anymore" floating around in the air. Too many things happened in the Fall that created this feeling. It was etched in stone on the release day of Ps3 and wii.
