Why 2012? Nothing much happened in the UK then other than the London olympics.
I agree with 2011 though, since there were huge riots in London which was spreading across the general area around london. I remember not being able to sleep at night summer 2011 because I thought it would reach the town I live in(it almost did).

It was a peaceful year, and beyond the fact that the London Olympics were happening (which definitely helped Britain's image), British culture was also really big during this time. One Direction in particular was huge in 2012.

It would be considered a good thing by teenage girls I guess but no one else.

I'd add 2022 for America's worst at this point lmao It’s been a pretty poor year over here, I’d have to agree, but it’s even worse for other countries, like the UK and Japan.

Canada - 2022 been pretty rough.
Besides for 2020 which is the obvious answer for every country except for maybe Ukraine (2022) and Iraq (2003).

I mean, we literally came close to the end of the world that year with the Cuban Missile Crisis. And the following year saw the assassination of JFK, which has been called the end of America's innocence. Yeah, the 60s in general were very rough for the US, with the exception of 1969, with the moon landing, which would instead go in the Best Years category. They were the opposite for the UK, where I'd consider 1964 one of Britain's best years, due to the British Invasion, and British culture becoming popular internationally.

Are you not aware this is what happened in the UK in 1966? Soccer to them is like religion, and this was the only FIFA World Cup they ever won.

I said the 60s was a great decade for the UK I'm saying it was a better year for them than 1964, the "British Invasion" is a very American-centric term because the Beatles and other British bands were already famous around Europe in 1963, it just wasn't until the following year they had same success in the United States.

Well, Queen Elizabeth just died As for 2022 wasn't already a terrible year for the UK with Partygate and the government collapse, the Queen literally had to die as well. 2022 is going to be the fucking 2001 of Britain.
