This topic will make a great discussion. Mines are the Southern, British, Australian, Valley/CA, Russian and the Spanish ones. What are yours?

My favourite accents are Scottish, Irish and English. I like the New Zealand accent as well, mainly because of how the vowel sounds are pronounced (i.e fish becomes fesh) and their slang, like calling people "bro" and "eggs". The Australian accent isn't too bad either, although sometimes it can sound a bit cheap. Maybe it's just the fact that I speak the accent and I hear a lot of American accents in movies/TV shows, but when you hear an Australian accent in a horror movie or a drama, for example, it just doesn't sound any good.

Probably the worst type of Australian accent is the "American attempting an Australian accent" accent you sometimes hear in movies and TV...if you know what I mean!

Yeah, it sounds really inauthentic. Another type of Australian accent which I don't particularly like, is the really "broad" accent, like how Kath & Kim speak. I know the accents spoken on Kath & Kim are dramatised, but there are people who genuinely speak similar to that!

Me and prodanny288 live in the USA and in the same state. We went to the same elementary and middle school, but we go to different high schools.

You guys aren't lying. Yeah, we sound terrible at attempting other accents.

You guys aren't lying. Yeah, we sound terrible at attempting other accents. A lot of Americans sound like South Africans or New Zealanders when they try to attempt our accent.

What state do you both reside? And I had no clue that Unicornic was from the UK. That's interesting to know. I wonder if she gets weird looks because of her background. I remember seeing a photo of her on another site about a month ago.

Oh, and what state do you reside currently?

My favourite accent would have to be British, specifically RP. It sounds formal and intelligent to me.

Imo, South African accents are pretty funny to listen to. Australian accents are neutral to me apart from those ones SharksFan99 mentioned like the ones on Kath and Kim, those accents are awful and they make everyone sound really bogan lol. Also, while I am very used to hearing American accents on television etc, I find that in real life, some American accents are really irritating to listen to, especially the Valley/CA accent.
