It finally happened, She lasted so long it almost feels weird that she died, despite being 96.

Saying "the Queen of England" almost feels like such a part of our language now it's going to feel weird to start saying King.

I knew it would happen sooner or later, but the reality of it is still pretty shocking to me. But RIP anyways.

Kind of mindblowing to think her reign spanned 1952 to 2022, that is a HUGE amount of shifts and changes contained into one period. Really puts the Victorian age to shame.

It will be weird not to see the queen's head on our money anymore here in Canada. It will be replaced with the new king.

It is refered to as the "second Elizabethan era" in a few articles: amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/sep/09/queen-elizabeth-ii-legacy-david-hare

the end of an era. definitely another nail in the coffin for the 2010s The 2010s ended a long time ago. If this meant the 2010s ended then you could say the 1950s never ended since Elizabeth was the queen back then too. The 2010s ended in 2020 when the pandemic hit.
