This was only a minor hit in 2021 but it sound very "2020s"
In a way it's the first 2020s song to feel "dated" by this point... It's VERY of its time (2020-2021)

I mean yeah it sounds different but it's not really blowing up as in that it's on the Billboard charts, or is it? If not then I wouldn't expect music to sound like that. The change in sound will probably be more subtle than that.

The change in sound will probably be more subtle than that. Billboard charts are not the only metric to measure a songs popularity. There is Spotify and TikTok nowadays. The song I posted currently sits at #14 at the Hot 100 and expected to rise to the top ten next week. Plus the song is #2 on the Spotify charts.

It's VERY of its time (2020-2021) Even though it didn’t chart in Billboard, it felt pretty significant on TikTok and probably was the first Hyperpop hit. Same thing with BrooklynBloodPop.

Cool you're right then. This is the new sound of the 2020s. Finally we have a different sound. I've noticed it in other songs even earlier though.

Phonk is really big now with the young crowd. Similar to dubstep was 10 years ago.
This might be the current style of EDM. It does have a 90s flavor

Nobody can disagree now that we're definitely in a shift. I told you guys 2023 would be a year of the shift. What a time to be alive.. When BING of all companies is replacing Google...
