I asked this same question on city-data.com recently, and thought this would be a really good other place to ask it as well, owing to the fact that many Australians are on this forum.
I notice on geography forums, a commonly asked question is; "what's the most quintessential American state"? I myself once asked the question on here awhile back, but didn't know it was quite as popular of a topic to debate as it is. It eventually led me to wonder, what's the most quintessential Australian state? I'm curious, because in my view, the US and Australia have many similarities in terms of geography, history and culture.
In my opinion, it's Queensland. It has the Gold Coast beaches, Great Barrier Reef, tropical rainforests, the outback, a bit of desert, suburbia, and yet it still actually gets occasional snow.

I would also say Queensland as well.

SharksFan99 Sorry for the tag, but I wondered if you’d have a say in a topic like this.

I would say New South Wales.
We've got the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, which are the two things that are most associated with Australia. NSW also has a wide range of different climates and landscapes, such as a sub-tropical climate in the north, the outback in the far west, and the alpine resorts in the south.
