Recommend me a book?

I want to get back into reading but I'm having a hard time finding books that keep my interest! So, I thought a neat idea would be a thread for finding book suggestions by posting about what you're interested in lately. Any genres, plots, etc and/or if something comes to mind to suggest for someone based on their reply (and it can be any reply in this thread). 

But for starters I'm currently really interested in reading something Sci-Fi or Fantasy related, with a lot of action. Maybe even some mystery in it? Importantly something where the lead character is personable and grows throughout the story. Continuing series are always fun, too!
