Well Elon Musk has done it, he has driven Twitter/X into the ground and now users are flocking en masse away from this bot/spam-riddled toxic cesspool of a platform towards similar but much more welcoming alternatives like Bluesky. If there's one social media on the horizon to look out for, it's that one.

Honestly I felt Twitter was dead before Elon and even Trump came into the picture. Around 2014 or 2015 is when it started dying down in favour of video shorts.

I'm not really convinced Bluesky will take off, tbh.

I seriously thought Threads was going to become the next 'big thing' and replace Twitter/X, especially seeing as though it's integrated with Instagram. However, it's never really gained any traction.

I hope i'm proven wrong though. I can't stand Musk, so I would love to see Twitter/X continue to decline. That being said, I just think it's a hard task nowadays for any new social media platform to build a mainstream following.
