I was reading an article on a newspaper website and it was debating whether dogs should be bred for sale at pet shops. It's a topic that has always interested me, because I have never liked seeing puppies sold in pet shops. The dogs spend most of their time in small glass cubes, meaning that they have no room to spread out or walk. It's animal cruelty. Personally, I believe dogs should namely be bred for sale on properties or boarding kennels. Not only does it benefit the dogs, but it would also improve the livelihoods of many people.
What are your thoughts on it? Do you believe dogs should be sold at pet shops?

NO! Whenever I got to the pet shop, I would always feel sad for the puppies being trapped in small cubes/cages without their usual dog routines (walk and stretch) it's not right. All the years of my family owning pets, we've always adopted them at shelters and breeders to give them a better life.
Adopt, Not Shop.

There are so many dogs in shelters and rescue centres that are in need of a loving home. My Mum actually does volunteering at a rescue shelter in the local area and it's sad that many people simply choose not to adopt dogs in animal shelters. It's good to hear that your family has always chosen to adopt dogs from shelters and breeders.

Umm no. They probably think trapping them is going to get more people to adopt them because then they'll feel so bad that they have to live like that.

I've got two dogs. One of my dogs we bought off an animal breeder in 2004 and the other one we adopted from some people who couldn't take care of it in October last year

My city banned the sale of cats, dogs and rabbits at pet shops a few years back.

It was a municipal issue i.e. it largely went unnoticed.
