High of 28C today. Really hazy skies over Auckland the past few days. After a few days of 30c+, in typical Tassie conditions today has seen just a top of 17c. Not that we are complaining as it gives a chance for our firies to put things in place to combat the numerous out-of-control bushfires burning in large parts of the state. Unfortunately though, it’s still very windy and with low humidity which counteracts that somewhat. Yep. Its the smoke from Australian fires combined with our high humidity and low inversion layer which is creating the hazy skies. Damn it Australia . Anyways, I see Hobart is forecast to reach a low of 10C overnight! I would be looking forward to that .

Oh climate change, it doesn’t exist does it? So the “experts” say anyways. I support global warming.

Sunny today. High of 27C.
Looks like the heatwave made it here to NZ where temperatures upwards of 38C were recorded down on the east coast.

It only reached a maximum of 21C here today, which strangely enough felt "cold" after the temperatures that we have been experiencing over the past few weeks. Right now it's only about 18C; it feels like we're in Winter!

It was a very pleasant sunny day and a big change from the last week or so with runs of mid to high 30s. Right now it’s 13c and quite cold too.

Hopefully there will be rain forecast for Hobart and the rest of the state over the next week or so, because it's something that is desperately needed at the moment!

I actually caught on the news tonight that February and March are expected to be extremely dry with no rain on the horizon due El Niño. Considering how dry large parts already are the bushfire season could very well be dangerously longer this season.

It's not the news that everyone would be wanting to hear, because from what I understand, the firefighters are struggling to contain the fires and the South Western Wilderness is under serious threat.

Yes. Not sure how much you have heard (considering from what I have seen Seven, Nine and Ten have barely covered the fires, which I find quite astounding), but authorities are seriously considering bringing crews over from parts of Europe and America to help if things didn’t improve.

Yeah, I heard about that on The Latest actually. I would even be looking into bringing the crews over now to help assist with controlling the fires. It may be more of an expenditure, but at least it should decrease the threat of the South Western Wilderness catching fire. Yep, the Tasmanian fires have only received about a 20-second mention on Nine's Afternoon News, which is ridiculous. The fires may not be happening on the mainland, but it shouldn't matter.
