Christmas.
It always gave me that special feeling inside of me and I love Christmas specials. The snow is also an awesome thing on the rare occasion we get it here XD

It never snows at all where I live, because Christmas is during the Summer in the Southern Hemisphere. I would love to experience snow at Christmas time.

Lol if it helps we haven’t got real snow in 3 or 4 years, oddly enough though last winter flipping south Texas got snow while up here in north Texas didn’t. Flipping south! 😂 damn global warming -_-

My mother died on the 29th so Halloween isn't exactly my favourite celebration. My mom lost her pregnancy on that date so for her it's the same way. Growing up I felt guilty for liking it, but at least now I understand and she's opened back up to my wanting to celebrate. She minds the "cute" aspects a lot less than the gory stuff.

It's difficult to say. I hate the day of Halloween itself, because it's usually teenagers who are old enough to work who are knocking on my door, and I have to sit in front of the door waiting for them, when there are a million other things I'd rather be doing. It's also late in autumn and usually snowing that day or really cold, so I dread having to take my sisters out trick or treating and standing in the rain/snow. They are 13 this year so hopefully I won't have to do that anymore. But I love the "Halloween season" itself. In late October I always go to a haunted house and I've went to a haunted camp once too. And I love buying the cheap candy and chocolates after Halloween In short, Christmas Day > Halloween Halloween season > Christmas season My real favourite holiday is New Year's anyway

Today I've been thinking a lot about the two holidays and trying to figure out which holiday is better. Is Halloween actually a holiday in the States? Legit question btw.
Christmas is fun, family, friends, presents, new year coming up. Halloween is just for kids to try get sweets off strangers.

Even though you would still have work/school, yes Halloween is a national holiday here. And here in the states it isn't just kids who celebrate it. Plenty of adults often throw parties and get totally wasted. Some will also go all out with decorating the outside of their house.

You're very kind. Whenever i'm home on Halloween, I deliberately close all of the blinds and shut the front door, so that it creates the appearance that no one is home. Even in the rare instance where people do knock on the front door, I just ignore them and wait until they walk off.

Both are fairly pointless IMO aka I don't care for either.

I fail to see how it can be declared a holiday when people still go to work and school.
Another serious question. Is Thanksgiving a holiday? As in day off. I could google it but why have a dog and bark yourself? I'm guessing no one has work or school that day as there is a football game on.

And though we don't get the day off on Halloween, the day still receives insane amounts of attention via marketing on television and the radio.
