However I stand by what i said about her name not being strong enough for songs to take off on their own like in that past. We need to look at two things. Katy Perry the celebrity and Katy Perry the Pop star. Katy is still very much an A-list celebrity however she not an A list pop star anymore. There are a lot of factors working against her such as age, the average longevity of a pop star, etc... I do generally agree with what you're saying, however I still believe she has the potential to do better. That window of opportunity is very nearly gone though and honestly, I tend to think this year was the real "make or break" year for her. Her music career has been in a downward spiral for these past six years. She returned with a moderately successful Top-40 hit in the form of "Never Really Over", but her follow-up efforts were very disappointing to say the least. I can't see how she can really come back from this. Any potential she had to go on to better things during the second-half of the 2010s has been wasted.

The 2010s may be coming to a close, but there are still some new, noteworthy releases to report:
Harry Styles released this new soul-inspired, pop-rock song a couple of days ago. It's the third single from his upcoming second studio album, which is set to be released on the 13th. It's okay. I can't say that I see myself going out of my way to listen to it, but I don't dislike it or anything. It's got me even more intrigued as to what the overall sound of the new album is going to be though. Harry seems to be drawing influencing from a wide range of different influences and styles.
Speaking of former 1D members, Niall Horan happened to release the second single off his upcoming second studio album on the same day. This isn't really too my liking. I get that Niall is wanting to go for a more stripped-back sound with this ballad, however there's no "zoompth" in this; it isn't memorable at all.

Lil Uzi Vert thought it was a good idea to mix in early 2010s synths on a trap song to ring in the new year I guess...

www.ariacharts.com.au/charts/singles-chartIt took a song from 1994 to do it, but after a record breaking 21-consecutive weeks at the top of the ARIA Charts, Tones and I's "Dance Monkey" is no longer at number one. Thank you Mariah Carey.

If yes; what's your opinion on "She"? Not yet, unfortunately. I'll have a few hours to myself tomorrow night though, so i'll give the album a listen if I remember.

Looks like this will be the last time we will be posting about 2010s music from a new, current perspective. New '10s releases will be a thing of the past in a matter of hours.

The decade is still very "current" though; for a previous decade, the 2010s have aged like fine wine. What time is it where you are? We're six minutes into 2020 here in Australia.

And funny thing is that we're currently in different decades since we're still stuck in the past for 10 hours here

Yep, people are throwing their tide pods into open fires and setting fire to things like fidget spinners, skinny jeans and selfie sticks. People are wearing "I hate mumble rap" t-shirts. It's Disco Demolition Night all over again! You will have to join in on the action when you make it to the other side. The 2020s are looking good so far! Yeah, that's an interesting way of thinking about it! I can't say that I've been through something like this before.
