I thought this would be an interesting thing to share . There's a Post-Punk song that surfaced a decade ago on the internet, but only recently recieved attention particularly thanks to Reddit. The thing is that no one knowns what the song is called and from who it's from. The only thing we have is a short preview that we know was recorded from a German radio station in the 80s which explains the low quality: The noticeable thing is that the instrumentals sound a lot like Cutting Crew's "(I Just) Died in Your Arms", while the vocals are Depeche Mode-esque. The song is also in English, which means the band is not necessarily German but could be from anywhere in Europe, making the search even harder. What do you all think of this ?

My old songs from the early '10s are gone now, that's pretty damn mysterious.

It does indeed sound like 'I Just Died In Your Arms'.
I'm not surprised it remained undiscovered for so long, it's a crock of rubbish. Pity it didn't stay unknown.

Update: the full version was finally found and posted online today!
We still don't know how it's called (most likely "Check it in, Check it Out") or who made it, so the mystery is still up in the air. But at least an important step has been made.

I find it hard to believe that not one person knows who released the song. There's millions of people around the world who use the internet daily, yet no one knows? Also, it's not as if the 1980s are not within living memory. There would be people out there who would know more about it.

Also, it's not as if the 1980s are not within living memory. There would be people out there who would know more about it. There are loads of music that stays relatively obscure. "Underground music" is called like that for a reason. In this case, it's probably a DIY local act that only got some slight exposure on the radio from their region. Besides the very specfic area, the chances that people actually stumbled on it on the radio also add in. Plus, the 1980s, while not absurdly long ago, are still 30 to 39 years ago, making only a relatively small portion of internet users actually able to vividly remember them.

That 80s song is STILL not identified, but here's a 90s song no one seems to recognize, more up to SharksFan99's taste Only a very terrible quality audio is available unfortunately.

You're right, that definitely is right up my alley. The vocals really remind me of those of Mark Wakefield, the former singer of the Late '90s nu-metal band Xero. I don't think it's him though as the song sounds more alternative and I don't believe Mark Wakefield was ever in an alt-rock band prior to the formation of Xero.

^I'm fairly sure I've read that they asked several members of that band and they denied it. So it's pretty much debunked at this point.
The mystery of the song therefore lives on...

^Here's the tape recorded from the radio in 1984 which includes the song. It's so weird to hear it in-between such famous songs like "Sunglasses At Night" and "Ghostbusters".
