Hadn't have the possibility to hear his new album yet, but wow, he truly swept everything under the rug on Spotify US:

Is this song popular/charting anywhere else? I can't really find too much info about it online.
Here in Australia, it's currently sitting at #22 on the ARIA Chart, and it really took me by surprise when I heard it for the first time on the radio yesterday. I thought it was a Miley track from like 2007 or 2008.

Can you believe that Filthy Frank, the famous video shitposter of the mid-2010s, after one hell of a career change currently has the biggest song on US Spotify?
A very echoey and emotionally damaged ballad is the last thing I expected from this. But this is honestly a geniunely very pretty song so I'm not too mad about it. Joji has a fantastic voice that really fits this type of stuff.

House music is super popular right now (Drake, Beyonce) sadly this is just a continuation of the throwback trend that started in 2020

Lyrical Lemonade collabed with a British artist for the first time and it's the most British music possible out of the early 20s. Drill rapping + 2000s sample + afroswing beat
Don't like the rapper, but this type of beat is actually really fun.

Apparently the best mainstream Country can do right now is borrow from a 90's song

So this song is basically a Y2K throwback. Even though it's not the best due to the obvious sample but hopefully 90s/Y2K throwbacks replace 80s.

Complete sidenote, but it's great to hear Björk still putting out extremely futuristic and left-field pop even after 3 decades into her career.
