The worst part about this pandemic is how it is making the job market super difficult for those looking for jobs. Businesses can easily reopen if everyone wore a mask and gloves. Of course, some places would need to operate at a limited capacity.

I've heard that human trials on a COVID vaccine recently started in South Australia and Western Australia, though I'll be surprised if we have an effective vaccine available by the end of the year.

Meanwhile in Victoria: The ‘Melbourne virus’? WTF?! You would expect better from someone like Chris Reason. He's been listening to Trump too much I think.

This looks promising. Australia's first COVID-19 treatment has been approved for use.tinyurl.com/y9o3day4Can you believe we've recorded nearly 300 new cases in a single day?! It's crazy! A few fines have been handed out to people trying to cross the NSW/Victoria border and a group who violated lockdown rules to celebrate a birthday party have been slapped with a massive $26,000 fine.

It's a start at least, although we're still no where close to finding a cure for COVID-19. I personally don't think we will ever have one.

Some people have said we might have a vaccine by the end of the year, but I'll be really surprised it that does happen. Usually, the discovery and research phase takes up to five years, since vaccine development is a complex process. Experts say testing of a COVID vaccine will be much faster than for a typical vaccine, but it'll still take up to 18 months.

Whelp, there are 2 new cases in my city because of these fucking braindead asshats who don't know how to social distance and yet spread it to other people like they're 'cool.' This is pissing me off because now I can't go back to regular school for the 2020-21 year, and my work would be at risk. Sorry if I seem aggressive here but I'm seriously pissed off about how people don't know how to do shit, its so fucking simple yet hard for them??

I think until the vaccine arrives, airline travel should be super low. Like below 20% of how it was before the pandemic. Airline travel will cause the virus to spread to other areas easily.

Today in Queensland, paid volunteers started getting the first doses of a potential COVID vaccine. Here in Victoria, metropolitan Melbourne (where I live) is back in lockdown for at least six weeks due to a massive spike in cases over the past few days. Most students, when school holidays end, will have to go back to homeschooling for a while (at least four weeks). Unfortunately, some people are still refusing to follow to new rules.

Total cases in Australia: 10,495
Deaths: 113
Recovered: 7,928
Melbourne has recorded 317 new cases in 24 hours, the highest number of new cases we've ever had in one day.

California has been in a lockdown now for eighteen straight weeks. It is he only state in the United States which never ended its shelter in place yet.

428 new cases in Victoria overnight, damn. Not good news that Melbourne has had to go into another lockdown for 6 weeks, terrible for the economy and not a good experience for everyone either. Honestly, doing my entire semester 1 online was not fun so hopefully things will improve.
Also looking like that travel plan between New Zealand and Australia won't be happening anytime soon considering this.

At least you were out of a lockdown, and your lockdown is bound to end at a certain date. Our lockdown never ended and has no fixed end date. Eighteen weeks already.

So you know, longaotian lives in New Zealand and they remain at low level stage 1 and are still currently out of lockdown as far as I’m aware? NZ haven’t reported any new cases of community transmission for over two months now after their initial complete lockdown back in March. Of course, with new outbreaks now occurring in some other counties, this could all change, obviously.
