428 new cases in Victoria overnight, damn. Not good news that Melbourne has had to go into another lockdown for 6 weeks, terrible for the economy and not a good experience for everyone either. Honestly, doing my entire semester 1 online was not fun so hopefully things will improve. Also looking like that travel plan between New Zealand and Australia won't be happening anytime soon considering this. It’s very concerning that some Victorians still aren’t getting the message though. They are in lockdown yet there are still reports of groups of people going about their daily lives and socialising even though they have been instructed otherwise. Doesn’t help they have spread it to NSW either..

I can understand people are frustrated, while the first lockdown was the obvious thing to do as the pandemic was accelerating back in March, people are starting to get sick and tired of these constant restrictions in their life, which is completely understandable. However despite that, these people going out and breaking the rules really need to stop and consider the health of everyone in the community and realise that the quicker they follow the rules, the quicker it will be over with and things back to usual - like just stop being so selfish.

Doesn’t help they have spread it to NSW either.. Yep, the situation here is also getting worse by the day. We've now tightened restrictions on indoor venues again and the disease is starting to spread to other areas. There's now two new confirmed cases here in the Illawarra, and one of them visited a venue literally only minutes away from where I live. It's frustrating that many people just don't seem to give a shit about the coronavirus. I went to the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo on Tuesday and there were hundreds of people walking around not even attempting to maintain a distance from others.

Australia's total number of cases currently stands at 10,810. National death toll has reached 116. Three deaths and 428 new cases in Victoria (the highest number of new cases we've had over a single day). Return of some restrictions in NSW and it's possible that South Australia might go back into lockdown. The time for leniency is over. We really need to get tough on those who are breaching COVID-19 regulations.

At least you were out of a lockdown, and your lockdown is bound to end at a certain date. Our lockdown never ended and has no fixed end date. Eighteen weeks already. So you know, longaotian lives in New Zealand and they remain at low level stage 1 and are still currently out of lockdown as far as I’m aware? NZ haven’t reported any new cases of community transmission for over two months now after their initial complete lockdown back in March. Of course, with new outbreaks now occurring in some other counties, this could all change, obviously. I would give anything to go back to pre-lockdown, of course not something valuable. I was thinking something I could afford to give up like some of my friends.

Victoria also recorded 363 new cases over the past 24 hours. I really feel for our Melburnian members.

Unfortunately, I think it’s time Victoria (and perhaps even NSW before it escalates further in that state) have to do a stage 4 New Zealand-style lockdown to help eradicate it for good. Seems to me that may be the only way forward if wearing these masks fail to make any difference in the coming days/week.

I’ll never get over 2020 being ruined. We’ve all been looking forward to this year for a long time and it could’ve been an amazing year. It’s absolutely tragic to think about.

Yes, I actually this would be the year that I would enjoy more than any other year I had lived through. That is how 2017 and 2018 were. For 2019, just January, November, and December, and for 2020, up to March 2020.

We've just had our worst day since the pandemic started. 484 new cases reported in Victoria in the past 24 hours and our national death toll has reached 128. From midnight tonight, masks will be compulsory in Melbourne. The only people not required to wear a mask are children under 12 and people with certain medical issues. Everyone else faces a $200 fine if they leave home without a mask.

Things have changed. Thanks to an outbreak at a Melbourne childcare centre, children are now required to wear masks.

Another 10 deaths in Victoria overnight, 7 of whom were aged care home residents. 126 fines having been handed out and, despite metropolitan Melbourne now being a mandatory mask zone, some people are still refusing to wear a mask in public.
