Bizarre Love Triangle (1986) - Sounds 25 years ahead of its time, while it is technically New Wave/Synthpop, the tone and some aggressive synths are what influenced some Electropop songs from the Late 2000s/Early 2010s. Sounds 80s while still way ahead of its time.
Cassie - Me & U (2006) - Sounds 8 years ahead of its time. The flow and beat sounds like something DJ Mustard would release. Her vocals also sound like it can come out in 2014 too! The only exception is the chorus, where it sounds fairly 2000s with the vocal hook and synthesizers.

If anything "Bizarre Love Triangle" sounds behind its time, those heavy electro-disco synths would feel more far more at home in 1982-1984 when hard-sitting synthy dance music like this reigned supreme:

This was released in 1990.
His song 5 years later sounds very similar to the previous.

came out 96 sounds like 1997 - 2000 Ehh, Id say its on the cusp of the Core 90s and Y2K Era... While it sounds pretty bubbly and upbeat, at the same time it still takes cues from CrazySexyCool styles from 1994/95.

I wouldn't say it's core 90s sounding but Babyface produced this song and many others on CrazySexyCool that could be why you hear some similarities, Babyface was the RedOne,Max Martin of that era. It sounds more like an r&b song plunked in the Max Martin Teen pop era of 1997 - early 2001. Around 1995 1996 r&b sort of exploded again.

Sittin Up In My Room does have some of the Bubblegum-ish sound but it sounds too slick and smooth instead of the grandiose and cheerful stuff from Teen Pop in the late 90s. Like Early2010sguy said, this was heavily inspired by TLC’s CrazySexyCool, not that groundbreaking if you ask me. Plus, she had that one song with Monica, The Boy Is Mine which sounds very much more like late 90s R&B.

Babyface made Crazy sexy cool album and this song, I think what really strikes it tho are the shiny bright visuals. Hybrid song as you will.

Does this song sound 2009-ish to you guys? nope, I remember when this dropped in 2002 thinking it sounded like a Moby sounding pop song with electronic influences. I would say it sounds closer to her Music album that was popular in 2000 and 2001. Technically it is listed as an electropop song by wikipedia but it does not sound like the 2009 kesha bip bop sound. This song is very 2001 sounding Madonna. In the early 2000s electronic music was back for a brief moment, music like this

Does this song sound 2009-ish to you guys? Kinda, it sounds like it took lots of inspiration from the 2001 Teen pop song "He Loves U Not", but at the same time, I've heard some similar sounding songs in 2008/09 because of the beat and autotune, kinda like in Lady Gaga's Paparazzi and a few of Britney's songs, but its hard to say for sure

Hard to think this was a huge hit in 1964! This was back when the Beatles were still newcomers in the rock canon. And it sounds so ahead of its time too (for the year where "I Get Around" and "A Hard Day's Night" were the defining rock hits), almost better fitted for 1969 when a lot of songs had this building and brooding vibe.
