This is a pretty controversial topic. While you could argue that the minimum drinking age should ethically be age 18 (since it is the age of majority), statistics show that people in their late teens-early 20s are at a higher risk of being involved in motor vehicle accidents. The human brain does not stop fully developing until around the Mid 20s and many people in the 18-21 age bracket have often been regarded as still being too "young" and "immature" to be consuming alcohol.
I'm 18 myself, however I have chosen not to drink alcohol (because it doesn't appeal to me). Of course, there are people my age who are mature and responsible enough to consume alcohol, but there are plenty of others who simply aren't. What do you think? Do you believe the legal drinking age should remain at 18, or do you think it should be raised to age 21, like how it is in the US?

I don't want to wait until I'm 21 that's ridiculous and the U.S. is weird for having that law. I'm looking forward to be able to drink next year (not like I already dont ), but I just can't buy it myself. We just gonna get my friend who's already 18 to hahah.

Personally, I really don't care whether the legal drinking age is 18 or 21...but that's probably because I've chosen not to drink alcohol (simply because it doesn't appeal to me) and am over both ages anyway.
Overall I agree that while there are 18 year olds who are mature and responsible enough to consume alcohol, there are plenty of others (including people older than 21 years old) who simply aren't.

I've read a lot of different articles which have put forward the idea of raising it. To be honest, I don't think it's a bad idea. Personally, I really don't care whether the legal drinking age is 18 or 21...but that's probably because I've chosen not to drink alcohol (simply because it doesn't appeal to me) and am over both ages anyway. Yeah, that's fair enough. I can see both sides of the argument and to be honest, I don't think it would be a bad thing if it was raised.

I don't really care. 18 is good. Alchocol tastes weird so I don't drink it at all. How would you know if it tastes weird?

Personally, I'd like to see it dropped down to 16, if you're gonna trust someone with a car that can kill many people, you can easily trust someone with a beverage that is actually in some ways better for you than soda.

Do you think the driving age should be raised in that case? It's hard to say really. Even though 18 is the age of majority in a lot of countries, a lot of people start entering the workforce when they're around the age of 16, so I guess learning to drive at that age isn't entirely a bad thing. Many 18 year olds are just as immature and irresponsible as 16 year olds, so in a sense, there will always be that element of risk to driving for people in their late teens-early 20s.

Yes driving comes before drinking, but in my mind that makes sense. Driving is a practical thing used in your daily lives for and/or your family. Drinking is not.

I think the drinking age should remain (18). The driving age over here used to be 15 but they changed it to 16 a Couple of years ago becasue they said 15 year olds are to immature to drive. Hmm most dangerous drivers I see getting pulled over by the cops/crashes seem to be in their 20s, not teenagers. thinking thinking

I know you can drive and get a job at 16, but why specifically 16?
