Probably the 1910s, worst decade of the 20th century for so many reasons. The Red Summer, WWI, Revival of KKK, Woodrow Wilson, the music was like a bad ripoff of 1900s music, the first red scare, the Spanish Flu and the list goes on and on. The only good thing that the 1910s did was end and the very rapid advancement of technology (along with the 1900s). Overall, the 1910s are the only decade that truly disgusts me in the 20th century, some other decades come close though.

I don’t necessarily hate or despise every era below but :
Late 30s to 1940s - too violent, extremist and tragic
1950s and early 60s - too conservative and conformist
1970-1974 - too plain
1978-1981 - too underwhelming
2000-2001 - too pseudo alpha
2005-2006 - too plastic
2012-2015 - too manufactured
2016-2018 - too backwards politically

Well, society-wise, I would go with any era before the 1970s (sure, the decade was tumultuous, but social progress was increasing and I actually like the pop culture back then).

I hate to say it, but the 80s kinda disgust me. Reagan, the war on drugs, cocaine/crack epidemic, AIDS crisis, casual racism, homophobia and sexism. I love the aesthetic of the 80s but I don’t think I could ever live in that time

Honestly, after living through 2020 idk how anyone can say 2020 doesn’t disgust them. This is by far the craziest year of the 21st century so far.

Back in high school, we had to watch an ungodly amount of traumatizing World War 2 documentaries. The events of Auschwitz in particular stand out as some of the most evil acts perpetuated in human history. The whole era makes 2020 look like paradise on earth in comparison.

I agree on WWII, but 2020 is too similar to the buildup to WWII. I have no doubts that certain people in power today would commit very similar acts if they could get away with them. We already have forced hysterectomies and rape down at the border, where we are also separating children from their families. I think the more knowledgeable someone is about Hitler and what he did, the more 2020 should terrify them. And on the subject of old and creepy, this is the kind of stuff that comes to mind.

I love the aesthetic of the 80s but I don’t think I could ever live in that time I feel the same towards past decades myself. Like the aesthetics, don’t like the values. Speaking of, check out this review of Happy Days from 1974! Funny thing is the guy predicts something like That 70s Show happening in the 90s lol.
