I need to make an entire thread about 2015. In retrospect it was a hella optimistic time and arguably the best year of the 2010s. I liked 2015, too. While it may not be my personal favorite year from the past decade (imo, that'd be 2012), it still has lots of great pop culture moments to be fond of, such as: - The beginning of Drake's reign in pop culture with "Hotline Bling" - Adele's massive, record-breaking success with her third album 25 and the smash single "Hello" (seriously, this song was everywhere in late 2015/early 2016) - #TheDress - FOX's massive hit series Empire - Kendrick's magnum opus To Pimp a Butterfly- The Broadway phenomenon Hamilton- The hype and major success of Star Wars' comeback with The Force Awakens

Was 2019 really a calm year? Don't think so tbh, although, looking back now, 2019 was a damn good year It wasn't all that peaceful really. There were many political riots throughout the world, most memorably in Hong Kong and Chile. But also in the West with the Walk for Climate movement as attested by this video: It really seemed the world got angry that year, but of course COVID quickly overshadowed all this.

I think we can all agree that 2019 was the ultimate calm before the storm year.
Even 9/11 happened late into 2001, but 2020 came in with COVID very early into the year.

You people forgetting about 2015
Very optimistic and whimsical atmosphere compared to the pessimistic and cynical atmosphere of 2016-Now

Would 1961 count? It was before the Cuban Missile Crisis and JFK's assassination
