I think 2011 to 2014 might end up as very nostalgic in the future, not 2015-2018 lol. 2015 is the year that started the shit storm late 2010s to present toxic politics. Late 2014-Early 2015 is a transition. But is 2016 not the most iconic year from the 10s? It's definitely the year people talk the most about

I feel like all of the early 2010s (2010-2013) plus 2016 (excluding Fall) and 2019 will be the "nostalgia years" of the 2010s. You already see it for the Early '10s.
2014-2015 and 2018 won't be forgotten per say, but they won't stand out as much. Fall 2016 to 2017 IMO are too dark to be nostalgic for.

Yeah, I don’t really see people really that nostalgic for 2017. Even 2019 is seen as more nostalgic by people than 2017.

People forget that a terrorist attack happened in late 2001 and yet you still see people being nostalgic for that time period. People are going to overlook the negative stuff and look only at the positive stuff. That’s why it’s called rose tinted glasses.

Yeah, I don’t really see people really that nostalgic for 2017. Even 2019 is seen as more nostalgic by people than 2017. That's because 2019 was actually a good year for pop culture too. Avengers: Infinity War, Joker, Toy Story 4, Parasite. Not as tumultuous as 2016-2018 either.

There's a nostalgic compilation of commercials with over 1 million views from the 2008-2009 era AKA the Great Recession

Fuck 2017! 2017 can kiss my ass! 2017 wasn’t even boring so much as it was toxic and tumultuous. It was all MeToo and Trump. Even the movies like The Last Jedi (the highest-grossing movie of the year) devolved into toxic politics.

I can’t see anything special with 2016. Most of it didn’t have enough of a unique identity or enough turning points and then more toxic Trump stuff in the second half. 2019 also lacked character in the sense of just merely continuing a watered late 10s/core 10s identity that we are with today but just toned down some of cheesy sjw vs trump stuff that was making headlines in 15-18, including some of the cheesy and flashy trends from then, not much going on.

Honestly, the entirety of the 2010s will be considered very nostalgic because it happened right before the coronarmageddon and there were no global economic crisis or recession like in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s Wouldn’t be surprised if 2019 is seen as nostalgic too. Hell, it already is for many people as “the days before COVID ruined everything” I get angry just thinking about 2019. Definitely not my favorite year, but for entirely different reasons than 2020. I made a lot of self-sacrifices that year to put myself in a better position in 2020. However, it turned out to all be for nothing because of Covid. But yeah, I think the entire 2010s was a golden age compared to now and what is coming. Right now I'm actually optimistic about the short term (reopening from Covid, brief economic stabilization) but I'm very pessimistic on the medium term future. The 2020s will have to deal with two monumental things; the climate crisis kicking into full gear and the boiling over of the culture war in the USA between fundamentalist Christianity and secular humanism.

Pretty much every single decade since 1850s has had some kind of economic crisis, the 10s had none.

If we're being honest, all of the 2010s will be nostalgic since it's before the pandemic. Not that the pandemic will last all decade, but the after-effects of it certainly will. I don't think it will have the same charm as the 20th century decades. Even though the 2000s are nostalgic nobody looks back at them with the same awe as they do the '90s so the '10s while they will be nostalgic, it will be similar to the nostalgia the 2000s are getting now. This is due to so much technology of course.

It makes me feel so weird and old that people are already nostalgic for a time that feels like yesterday to me.
