this movie sucks does not even have the right songs that were played in 2002 lol Right, it's like if they made a movie that took a place in 2016 and the trailer song was freaking Gangnam Style Exactly, Pixar should have put Sk8ter boi by Avril as the song, or A Thousand Miles, both are Disney friendly enough for a movie.

New trailer. Apparently this movie is set in 2002, and the main girl is obsessed with boy bands.
The animation style is pretty adorable. Looks less obnoxious than Luca, which really repelled me.

BRB calling the Pixar phone number to rant @ them, but seriously this sh*t needs to stop with songs, movies and tv shows getting the 2000s wrong lol I saw someone on ytb saying Gangnam Style came out in the "early 2000s" like, wtf as a Gen Z I'm embarrassed by the amount of people who post "test your knowledge of 2000s music" TikToks where all of the songs are from 2010-2013 lol. On topic: it's not impossible for a kid to be listening to boy bands in 2003. Kids like what they like and don't care what year it came out. I had a friend in school who listened to nothing but Linkin Park and rock music, and at the same time I was obsessed with 90s Hip Hop. This was like 2013.

Makes sense since there are some BTS fans out there who listen to BTS songs from 20-fucking-11 This made me realize how kpop groups live longer than their western counterparts, maybe it's cause they're forced to work by their labels

True, it's like going mad because a movie set in 2021 has Old Town Road in it. Like some people don't immediately switch to the brandest new things, but stick to the stuff they like from the previous few years. It's fine. The only time it's annoying is when the thing didn't exist yet by the time the movie was set in.

I would be a bit bothered if Gangnam Style or Party Rock Anthem are played in a movie that takes place in 2016 like 10slover said.

More like if a movie that took place in 2023 had old town road as the theme song Imo it'd be pretty lame

Considering FINNEAS and Billie Elish are making some songs for TR, wondering if they'll get the early 00s right or if they'll botch it up (like, say, a 2022 sounding song for a film set around 02' or 03').

Hopefully they don't make us fall asleep while watching the movie I don't think Billie is the kind of pop star who cashes in on whatever is popular at the moment, so this could be the only time she makes throwback music

They are not going to get it right, they have a song from 1999 in the trailer lol No one was listening to backstreet boys in October 2002 ( when the movie takes place)
