What songs do you guys think sound 5+ years ahead of their time? Here's a few IMO:
Before finding out this song was from 2001, I thought it was from 2010-2011 (based on the beginning, I hadn't heard the rest of it)
RIP to Speaker Knockerz. This song is from late 2013, but it doesn't sound like it came out a day before 2017-2018.
This song is from 1998, sounds like it's from 2004.

Love At First Sight: That song was released in a wrong time (2002). The song would've done really well in 2020-onward time frame.

This song absolutely did not belong in 1969, maybe in 1979 or 1982 but definitely not 1969

Yung Lean released this song in 2013 and it got heavily criticized for his flow and lyrics back then, but it's now revered by many as spearheading the Soundcloud/cloud rap boom of the mid-late 2010s:

Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back and then his 2018 hit Filthy were ahead of their time.

Found another one. Before finding out this was from 1992 you could've told me it's from 2002 and I'd believe you, especially the chorus.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that this was released way back in 1983, the same year "Karma Chameleon" and "Electric Avenue" were big hits. Everything about it screams '90s alt-rock to me, from the drab, loose-fitting clothing, to the earthy colours, and just the overall sound of the song itself. It would look, and sound, more at home in 1992 or 1993. I could picture this being on the charts alongside "Mrs Robinson" or "Two Princes".

Maybe the song itself is from 1983 but the video is from 1996-1997, probably early or mid 1997 when gross point blank came out. Alternative/indie was in the midst of becoming recognized thing by 1984-1986/87 with many bands starting to get mainstream like REM, replacements and the mighty lemon drops. 1983 is possibly the earliest starting point until around 87-88 when the genre gets properly mainstream.

The riff used in the song is a complete copy from a 1962 song called "Little B" by the Shadows.

This song still sounds very 1995, but the beat almost sounds like what was popular from about 2013 to 2015...
