First because of the first live action/cartoon film but also because Disney & Warner Bros both worked on it. This scene will never happen again in animation lol EVER

I always wondered if Warner Bros and Disney worked together. Now I have my answer. Too bad this is the only movie they appeared in together. I am curious what caused them to work with each other and never again after. To me they always seemed like rivals which I never understood why. I find it cool how they did live action and cartoon together. I wish more movies now would have a mix of the two, but I am not saying for all of today’s movies to be like that. I forget why they never teamed up again after this, might be because Steven Spielberg was such a big name at the time that they jumped at the chance. Great movie BTW and paved the way for Space Jam.

In retrospect, even though it's technically an 80s movie, I consider Who Framed Roger Rabbit to be more of a 90s movie in terms of the overall vibe, and it was definitely one of the movies that helped establish the zeitgeist (especially in regards to animated film) of the decade.

Man, why did 2D/traditional animation have to die? At least 3D animation nowadays are mimicking 2D animation techniques.

I do like some 3D animated movies from the 2010s like The Peanuts Movie, the Captain Underpants movie, and, tied with The Lego Movie for favorite animated film of the decade, Into the Spider-Verse. It seemed those movies had a lot of influence from 2D animation that was otherwise lacking in the 2010s. I think Sponge on the Run and the CGI segments of Sponge Out of Water take lots of influence from 2D animation.

Ugh such a great movie, it set the tone for Space Jam Totally, I really miss that style of animation with real life acting, I can't think of anything else after space jam like it. I remember this other movie called cool world, you definitely should check it out, it was supposed to be kind of a follow up to roger rabbit but different. It had brad pit, it wasn't so great but it wasn't bad, I enjoyed it at the time, there was even a super nintendo and nes game after it lol, they were pretty lousy tbh, I remember renting them both, couldn't get past the first levels.

Looney Tunes: Back In Action was a box office bomb but it fits perfectly into that category. And there were also the first two SpongeBob movies that had live-action scenes blending with animation.

That movie sucked so bad, they should have waited and just done Skate Jam with Tony Hawk
