Did anyone notice the shift in mid-late 2019, when EDM really fell off, Tik-Tok became popular, eboys and egirls became popular and 2000s nostalgia started becoming popular?

I have talked about this many times and was indeed a shift lol. The whole year actually. The Mini 2019 shift - End of Game of Thrones- Billie Eillish becomes house hold name- Birth of E-Boy & E-Girl ( Emo 2.0)- Tik Tok explodes- launch of Disney Plus- Debut of Lil Nas X- end of Star Wars modern trilogy - Orange Is the New Black ends it's run - Veep ends it's run

I wouldn’t necessarily say 2017 is peak 10s either, if by “peak” you mean being the “most 2010s” year. But 2017 was definitely still core 2010s all the way through imo Yeah, 2017 was 100% still part of the core 2010’s IMO. Even the first half of 2018 was to an extent. I think people have the impression that “mid 2010’s” and “core 2010’s” are the same thing (which they aren’t). A year can be late 2010’s and core 2010’s at the same time. The whole point of core 2010’s is that the year is 100% full culturally 2010’s whether it’s early, mid or late 2010’s culture. Agreed, I think the core 10s ended sometime in summer 2018.

Yeah, that’s exactly where I’d say it ended as well. I’m of the belief that the 2010’s identity was extremely strong and the core 2010’s actually lasted for quite a long time.

I'll go with 2015. It felt like a bridge between the two halves of the 2010s, while 2014 leans early and 2016 leans late.

Unpopular opinion: the "two halves" of the 2010s are 2010-2013 and 2014-2019

It’s more so divided into three separate eras. I’d say the grouping is 2010-2012, 2013-2015, and 2017-2019. I’d put pre-late 2016 in with 2013-2015 and late 2016 with 2017-2019.

I think the first months of 2013 still felt kinda early 2010s; stuff like Vine wasn't relevant late spring of 2013.
