I've predicted this earlier in the year that trap would die before the end of 2021. And it finally happened. At least in the mainstream radio context. There is not a single trap song on the Billboard Hot 100 now. I've always dreamed and waited for this time to come and it's finally here now. It took longer that I wanted but it finally happened.. Trap is finally DEAD!

Definitely past peak but not completely dead yet, I'd give it until about 2023 for that to happen.
I don't see how you can say "there's no Trap on the charts" when Industry Baby by Lil Nas X and Need to Know by Doja Cat are literally in the Top 10, and I see songs from Drake, Pop Smoke, Polo G, Baby Keem, Gunna and more further down the list...
And I'd rather trap than another boring slow tempo Adele song at #1, thank you.

Thank fuck. With both trap and EDM gone the awful 2010s music zeitgeist is now behind us.

I wouldn't cry victory too soon. This was a pretty major hit only a few weeks ago:
And streaming media like Apple Music are still heavily dominated by trap.
Also, Billboard 100 in December is never a good representative since Christmas songs take the chart hostage temporarily.
Trap is definitely past its 2017-2018 peak at this point, but it still has a substantial presence in pop culture. Leave it to 2022 to actually confirm or not this trend.

Way 2 Sexy is awful and long-in-the-tooth, as someone who likes trap I'll give you trap haters that. I don't think Trap will really go away until sometime in 2023 atleast, coming from someone who actually enjoys most of the genre. I really don't like the style of trap beats like the one in this song and I hope *it* goes away (and it sounds super 2017 to me for some reason), but the newer style of trap with the guitars, drill synths, bouncy bass, melodic flow, etc. is amazing and I don't see why y'all hate on it so much lol. Unless that isn't the style you guys are hoping to see die, then I'd agree with you.

The 2017-2018 trap sound has to die, stale, boring and long in the tooth. The 2019-present trap sound can hang around for a little while longer. Okay I agree with this. Like let's not also kill melodic/bouncy trap when they've only been around a couple of years. 2021 trap sounds nothing like 2017 trap in my head. Compare "Rapstar" to "Slippery" or "Up" to "Bodak Yellow"

Well, I wouldn't say it's dead but it just evolved into something much better, not gonna lie.
I absolutely hated the Late 2016 - 2019 era of mumble rap with such passion, monotone beats, meaningless or negative lyrics, high use of autotune, and annoying weird voices, I don't even know how the fuck people found that "fire," it's plain trash and too cliche. The last trash song in my opinion is "Way 2 Sexy," and my god I wanted to bleach my ears out. How the hell do people find that shit catchy??
The trap music now (some of which started in 2018) is so much better, I especially enjoyed bounce-trap songs such as Roxanne, In My Feelings, Rockstar, etc. Is just so much more listenable and actually catchy. I also enjoy lyrical or melodic rap from Lil Nas X, DaBaby, Masked Wolf, Roddy Ricch, 24kGoldn, etc.
All I can say is that Trap isn't dead, but the genre today is soo much different from what it was a few years ago, and I can confidently say that I'm glad it changed. Fuck mumble rap

I think trap will have their final breathe in early 2024. Trap music of the mid late 2010s has been gone for a while now.

Fuck mumble rap I actually like Juiceworld, he has some decent songs. Rappers now are miking early 2000s rocker vocals like 24kgolden nowadays. Edit: wait I think Juiceworld is melodic rap

Edit: wait I think Juiceworld is melodic rap Didn't juiceworld die Yes sadly. If he didn't he would've probably been the voice for rap in the 2020s and be a major influence for this decade. He really did change the sound of trap, and for the better.
