-More long-running 2010s shows end (Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Shameless, Last Man Standing, Iyanla: Fix My Life, Home, and Family, CBS: This Morning, Highly Questionable, etc)
-Gen Z fashion is established. Fashion now is inspired by the late 1990s, Y2K era, early 2000s with some hints of the bling core 2000s era.
-PS5 starts to make a dent.
-Skeumorphic designs start to come back.
-Windows 11, iOS 15 and MacOs Monterey released.
-Disney closed 100s of their physical stores, many located in malls, between March and September 2021 in favor of putting their focus ShopDisney, which is their online retail platform. Disney has 23 physical stores remaining.

Wow, that's a lot of changes! Quite a bit of long-running 2010s TV shows ended in 2021! 2020 seems slightly more changeful than 2021 societally, but 2021 seems slightly more transitional than 2020 pop culturally. Politically, if 2020 or 2021 was more transformative is debatable. Funny how 2020 and 2021 share the same Chinese Zodiac signs as 2008 and 2009. Would you say 2021 was as transitional as 2001? Have you noticed a different vibe since we entered the second half of 2021 or Q4 2021? I would say so, I have to add 2020 in there as well because of Covid/911 being a watershed never coming back moment, so like the year 2020 + year 2021 = the shift of 2001

Every year has these sort of changes. 2021 feels relatively stagnant compared to previous years in record time.

We crossed an invisible barrier in 2020 societally. So you’d say 2020 and 2021 were reboot years. yes you have to include bot, mostly due to everything being shut down for a few months ( even tho a ton of groundwork was laid in 2019) in 2020 there were several months where people could not really even go outside to do much, it halted the shift from one year to 2, due to the delay

I would say late 90s even mid to late 90s is something I underestimated coming back, I just walked into a mall today, urban outfitters (3rd time this week) and saw new winter clothing collection, it was more late 90s, less 2010s stuff. It looked straight out of 1995-1996 from places that sold cutting edge urban or funky wear. Earthy colors, floral patternes, thick materials, lots of khaki and olive colors, crazy baggy bell bottom pants, fuzzy material coats for females, this stuff didn't appear out of nowhere later on , it was in malls 1994-1995-1996 in early formations but a bit overshadowed by grungy fashion. Its increased a bit more in 1997. Still there still is lots of core 2010s fashion there and other places, and its not dated yet. I don't see much early 2000s stuff yet, it feels like its just minor hints. A lot of early 2000s fashion especially from late 02-2003 but more 2003 in general is vaguely connected to core and mid 2000s fashion, a lot of it still isn't old enough, people tend to forget that. From 2021 collections, similar to what I'm talking about. Already there and first appeared in 94-96:

New BK logo looks like another 80s nostalgia thing, it’s just the older pre 1999 logo ( which was dated in the 90s) with minor tweaks. Would be more cutting edge if it happened in 2012 or something tbh

Flared jeans/bell bottoms and swirly hippy prints come to mind for example

I think the 1970s were inspiration for late 1990s, Y2K and early 2000s fashion. 1970s inspiration started showing up as early as late 1992 but it was already a thing a solid style in 1994, and 1995 and 1996, you could buy the same outfits in the pictures then. At that time it was there but it didn't pop out as much as 1997-1999 because it was sometimes overshadowed by grunge and cheesy sterotypical 90s fashion, but it was mainstream, you could easily spot a number of people wearing baggy bell bottom jeans, fuzzy jackets, and similar outfits in pictures in a year like 1995 in the malls. I think early 2000s fashion was getting rid of it, there were some elements of it, but it was becoming its own thing and shares a little more common with core and mid 2000s fashion. Y2K era It's definitely a more minimalist futuristic spin on in the 70s influences, late 90s it was a bit toned down and simple, mid 90s is a bit exaggerated and louder.
