Most of the rap from the early 2010s (2009-2013) was either electropop or house influenced. So I call this the "electropop-hop" era. Examples include
Even this old meme would fit

I like to call it the Swag rap era 2010-2012/13. It's kinda like an refreshed McBling. Real Trap era is 2013-.

Before that, you had a brief phase of DJ Mustard ratchet raps like Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, and Jason Derulo. Yeah, I’ve heard it referred to such, and it makes sense, as the term “swag” was big in the early 2010s.

The Blog/Swag era I guess. No wait, the blog era might be more late 00s (2007/08-2010), while the early 2010s (2011-2013/14) was more swag (although the swag era was probably around as early as 2009, while trap rap was already taking over in 2013 after its rise in 2012). Swag was so popular back then.

I was thinking "trap rap" more on the lines of Chief Keef, Migos, Rick Ross, Future, etc.

"Mumble Rap"/DJ Mustard Era (2013-2017) - no explanation. SoundCloud Era (2015-2018) Rage Era (2018-now) - think Playboi Carti and Yeat. Melodic Era (2019-now)

Rap was dead in the early 2010s. I remember everyone making posts asking if rap would "come back". We were in for a surprise in the mid 2010s when it came back full force.
It wasn't TOTALLY dead obviously but it wasn't high in the charts.

You had some songs by Wiz Khalifa but a lot of those were more electro pop.

There's trap songs from that period (and 2009-2011) that a LOT of people consider classics but didn't appear on the Billboard 100.
