Hi everyone, As you may be aware, there is a user on another forum site by the name of "LyricBoy" who is known to directly 'steal' content posted on our forum and post them on the other forum site word-for-word. This is happening on an almost daily basis. I realise that it's unrealistic to think that a forum has 'exclusive rights' to certain topics/themes and its to be expected that certain articles will be shared on multiple sites across the net, however this user is continuing to pose as something of a threat to our forum and his actions can't be allowed to continue. I've decided to take the drastic action of temporarily restricting access to the guests/lurkers of our forum (meaning that only members can access the site). The reason for this is that "LyricBoy" accesses our forum during the early hours of the morning here in Australia (when I am offline) and as admin, I am the only staff member who has the power to ban/delete new accounts registered on the forum. Given his activities, he will most likely attempt to register another account on our forum, and if he does so, I will then be able to ban the IP address he is currently using. The longer Popedia remains "off limits" to him, the greater the chance it will discourage him from repeatedly stealing Popedia member's threads in future. I will be assessing each individual registration on the forum for at least the next two weeks. People will still be able to register as per normal, however they will need to be approved in order for them to use the forum. This will not affect members in any way. You will still be able to log-in/access Popedia as you normally would.  It's not the ideal situation, but it's the necessary action to take if we want to put a stop to this. Regards, SharksFan99.
 Here's an example. The user created these topics only a few hours after they were posted here on Popedia.

I cannot stand LyricBoy. He has a very annoying persona and is not original with these "clever" sounding thread titles.

I doubt he ever received a message. Just an hour after I enabled "restricted registrations", I received a notification saying that a user by the name of "tree4" (which seems spammy/suss to me) has attempted to register an account on our forum and their IP address traces back to the area in which LyricBoy comes from, which I know from when he created an account on here not long back. My guess is that he attempted to access our forum not long after I restricted access and from seeing that Popedia is now "members only", he has twisted the story to try and cause more trouble. Also, he's wrong about the decision to restrict access to guests/lurkers harming our forum in any way. Popedia is still indexed into search engines and because we are also on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, it also means that word of our forum can continue to be spread. Also, the fact that people now need to register to access the forum may mean that we may see more new members join our forum and that could also result in more newer members posting on the forum, so that can only be a positive too.

I am reading the thread now LOL @ him just laughing at what he has done (stealing threads) no accountability at all and is now trying to flip it on popedia with a GAS LIGHTING pity play saying that we are knocking on handicap people when it was just jabs at the lack of content has nothing to do with someones handicap. He is just one of those pests that just need to be blocked forever, and I bet it eats him up inside Popedia is getting more growth in the last 1/2 half years then Inthe00s has gotten in a decade, he has to result to stealing threads because he can not come up with his own content. Keep doing the good work, I bet you he is going to try all day long and make as many fake accounts as he can, he really thinks he is slick  it's going to be interesting to see what sneaky tricks he has up his sleeve.

This is pretty classic narcissism, which makes sense considering his political inclinations. Those types never learn, they will never admit to being wrong, and I don't frankly think they have the depth of understanding to know when they are in the wrong.

I think he's well aware of what he is doing and he's quite good as twisting chain of events to fit his own narrative, however he will never admit to being the instigator in all of this. It baffles me as for why the staff members over on the other forum have allowed this to continue without taking any action. He's bringing unnecessary drama to both websites and he's clearly doing more harm than good. For a moment I thought this forum was deleted. Glad everything is okay. Good luck with the troll! Admittedly, it was a pretty abrupt decision and people really should have been given notice before it happened, so i'm sorry that it caught you by surprise.
