While I agree that what he's doing is annoying, he's only doing it out of retaliation as he says in this pic. He's mad about us trashing inthe00s and the recent posts in this thread here. --> popedia.boards.net/thread/1805/inthe00s?page=5 If I were in his position I probably would've done the same thing to be honest, so I can't really bear a grudge against the guy. If we want him to fuck off, then just stop making threads about inthe00s.

If we want him to fuck off, then just stop making threads about inthe00s. he has been stealing threads from this website even before that thread was made, there is no reason to keep copy pasting threads over and over, and that thread wasn't even anything to shake a stick at. He literally posts all day long topics from Popedia , to have that much devotion to keep stealing threads from various posters from this site 24/7 is very sad. Nothing he posts is original, its all Popedia content, every thread he makes. It creates a problem when a poster on another site is trying to steal viewership and claim it as his own. This thread had to be created to address the underlying problem. There would not be as much anger if he just apologized and admitted what he did was wrong. If you can't tell Lyricboy is Gaslighting the conversation its tactic used to deflect. "Gaslighting is a tactic in which a person or entity, in order to gain more power, makes a victim question their reality. ... For example, in the movie Gaslight (1944), a man manipulates his wife to the point where she thinks she is losing her mind." Notice how LB does not mention anything about stealing threads, he pretends like it never happened with no mention. Then deflects the topic to make it about himself to make pity.

If we want him to fuck off, then just stop making threads about inthe00s. I can understand what you're saying, however he's been doing this since well before early August (which was when the most recent posts about inthe00s were made). I sent a CatwomanV (the lead moderator on inthe00s) a private message about this exact issue way back in January: Looking back through my old posts on inthe00s, he has actually been acting this way since February 2019 and it has gradually gotten worse since then. Regardless of how he may feel about inthe00s being spoken about on other forum sites, it doesn't give him the right to 'steal' member's threads and then try and provoke me by acting sly over the entire situation. It's incredibly petty and immature. The last post made in this thread was made back in August 2019; it's not as if we have even been "trash talking" inthe00s on a regular basis.

I'm aware this has been happening for more than a month, but we have 3 threads from 2+ years ago where we bad mouth inthe00s and the most recent post in one of those threads was made last month. We may not trash talk inthe00s on a regular basis, but considering that we have had 4 threads dedicated to talking about why we don't like the website, I'm not surprised it would drive someone like him to do something like this. February 2019 is probably around the time when he found those threads and developed an "obsession" with Popedia. Also I am aware of how pitiful this is and I'm not defending his actions.

You don't need to explain Gaslighting to me, I know what it is. I wouldn't go as far as to call his behavior psychological manipulation. Whenever he copies threads, he doesn't acknowledge the thread originally made here. This is more or less basic internet trolling/lying. Literally anyone is able to tell if he's stealing thread topics by coming here and seeing the original thread for themselves, or by doing what Shark did with the McDonalds thread, and replying his OP with a link to the original thread here on Popedia. Sadly even if all of the members of inthe00s were aware of his copying of threads, I don't think any of them would really care.

If some rando trash talked about InThe00s 2+ years ago, and it wasn't even discussion that was sanctioned by the administrators of this website, then I don't really see the harm. And if some nothing thread from 2+ years ago is enough to spark this sort of constant vendetta lasting for over a year and a half, then someone is a fragile little snowflake and just needs to get over it.

It has been almost a week now since the restrictions were imposed, so as a result, I thought it would be worthwhile to create a poll to see how everyone feels about the decision. The restrictions have so far been a success. Not only have we seen a spike in new registrations and a day-by-day increase in the number of posts made, but most importantly, LyricBoy has not been able to 'steal' topics made on the forum and both of his attempts to register an account on Popedia were rejected. It has been the right decision to make in that regard.
However, there are both positives and negatives to keeping the forum restricted to just members-only, which is why I would be interested to hear everyone's opinions on whether we should continue to keep the forum like this going forward. I personally believe we should continue the restrictions for at least the next week, but after that, no decision has been made as yet.

Yo, I ordinarily hate taking part in forum drama, but I do think you’re in the right here. Kudos to you for spitting truth in LB’s thread, I will Karma that shit when I’m on my computer.
That being said, I’m really not sure what the best long-term answer is in terms of viewing the forum. I think locking to non-members may have a negative impact on gaining new membership but I can also understand wanting to protect the content.

I'll admit, I really don't want this to continue on for any longer than it needs to and I would much rather not have to put the forum through a situation like this. However, if we remove the restrictions too soon, things would just go back to square one and that would definitely be the outcome since LyricBoy has twice attempted to register an account here since last Friday. It's a hard and frustrating situation. What really needs to happen is for some sort of ban or infringement to be handed down over on inthe00s, but that is unlikely to happen since the mods are allowing that copycat "inthe00s vs Popedia" thread to continue on. I agree. The only other alternative I can think of would be to make the forum accessible for everyone to see, however all of the links on the homepage would be hidden unless you are logged-in to an account, if that makes sense? In other words, you would see all of the sub-boards and categories (e.g The Decade Den, Popedia Lounge) listed on the homepage as you do normally, but guests/lurkers wouldn't have access to the threads themselves. If we were to decide to go down that path, I think it would be wise to continue restricting registrations (so each person who registers would need to be approved to use the forum), otherwise it would defeat the purpose of hiding the threads to non-members.

Honestly seeing that thread over there and that Popedia is 1# trending over there is speaking volumes over the lack of content they have. That website is almost completely dead,The 2000s section has been empty and dormant for a an entire month. Seeing people commend Lyric boy for the theft is frightening. Inthe00s is like what you say a Community access channel is and Popedia is like Premium HBO (it's exclusive and requires sign up) atleast for now. The fact that the people who run inthe00s won't do anything to stop LB is also as frighting, they know it's an issue but they refuse to do anything despite many attempts showing this is a huge problem. There is a difference between fair game and stealing every single thread every 7 hours from the website (even a fake article I made) to catch LB. Sometimes it's just stealing rants from other people like the Mcdonalds thread, so not only highly engaging topics but also personal theft on persons thoughts and ideas. I say keep it sign up only for now.

Man, that was a pretty shitty response. I went into this thing being neutral on the whole Inthe00s/Popedia situation, but I'm honestly taken aback by how they're defending such obviously malicious behavior.
