I don't know how to do this, but I think it would be cool!
Edit: Archive starts on page 2!

It would be good, but i'm not exactly sure how one would be created either. It's something we could look into though!

Do you know how we could figure it out? I was asking on Reddit but I didn’t get any responses.

The forum software vendor might have one available.
I could try making one myself, but I tried searching for "threads made between January 1 2018 and January 31 2018" and I only got one page of results. When I clicked on page 2, it would give Page 2 of Recent Threads instead of a Page 2 of search results. I think that might be a bug.

goodbants @slowpoke1993 I've researched a bit about this. Proboards have the viewpoint that for as long as the forum itself remains online and the search feature remains functionable, there is no need for an archive to be created. There's a number of threads on the Proboards support forum about this topic. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a simple solution to it. This is the most recent thread I've been able to find in case you're both interested. I think there would be ways around it though. It's actually possible for individual members to export all of their own forum posts. I haven't done it myself yet, but i'm wondering if it may be possible for all of us to export our posts and possibly compile them into a template of some sort (so that the posts/topics could be viewable off the site)? It would mean having to ask each member to do so and that would be unrealistic since there's so many of us, however it could be an option. The reason as for why inthe00s have an archive is because their host platform (Simple Machines) offers a plug-in which allows an archive to be created. Proboards doesn't offer a plug-in of the sort.

I've exported my own forum account data just to see what it's like. The data is sent to you as an email, then you click on a link in the email itself and it then downloads onto your device. They are csv. files.

In the process of making an archive bot, I discovered that all threads on Popedia have a chronological thread ID. For example, popedia.boards.net/thread/1 is the very first thread on Popedia, popedia.boards.net/thread/2 is the second, and so on. That makes things a lot easier!

No problem, it's Saturday and COVID-19 is spreading exponentially through my town so 🤪 A hurdle I had to get through is attaching a username to each thread, even when the user is deleted. What I'm trying to work through right now is getting the board ID for each thread and attaching that to the board name. By the end of the day, I should have a list of threads, who it was made by, when it was made, and which board it was in. After that, sorting/filtering by creation date (and removing private boards) should be trivial. Let's hope I don't run into a CAPTCHA

I know you're still working on it and there's still a few uncertainties with how it might turn out, but how do you think the archive would be accessible? With it being an archive bot, would the archive itself be an offline duplicate of the forum or would the archive be hosted on a new internet domain? If it requires a domain, i'm open to purchasing one as I have already looked into it and the prices are reasonable.

Right now I'm making the bot that goes through each thread and gathers all the thread data and stores it in a file. Then I'm going to write a separate program that uses the data file (that the bot made) to generate a text post that I can paste here.

That's thread numbers 5 to 100 (I accidentally overwrote the first 5). That post was just a proof of concept. I could get the other 4000 threads on Popedia, but it is 11:40PM here, and the bot takes about 1-2 seconds to sift through each thread (so 4000 threads will take more than an hour). SharksFan99 goodbantsI want to know if you guys are okay with the format? Is there anything else I can add? I'm open to critique.

That's perfect, something like that was actually what I had in mind for an archive!

That's perfect, something like that was actually what I had in mind for an archive!  Oh okay that's good to hear, because right after I posted that I was starting to worry that by "archive" you guys meant a separate site with all the posts frozen in time, and I was gonna look dumb Making a site like that is within my capabilities, but it wouldn't be a weekend project .
